Description: Meatball stronganoff

Ingredients:
  • 1.5 to 2 lb gr beef
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 4 tsp steak sauce
  • 1/3 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 TB butter
  • 2 TB butter
  • 8ou mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 TB flour
  • 1 tsp ketchup
  • 1 can condensed beef broth (10.5ou)
  • 3 TBS Sherry
  • 1 package dry onion soup mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
Steps:
  • PART I (Meatballs): In lg bowl combine first 6 ingredients.
  • Shape into 1.5-2in meatballs.
  • Brown in butter in lg skillet.
  • Reduce heat and continue cooking for 10mins.
  • Remove meatballs and set aside. Pour off all but about a tablespoon of drippings.
  • PART II (Sauce): Add 1 TB butter to skillet, saute mushrooms and remove from heat.
  • Stir in flour & ketchup
  • Add broth gradually
  • Add onion soup mix & sherry, bring to a boil, then reduce heat.
  • Add meatballs.
  • Stir in sour cream; heat through but do not boil.
  • Serve with hot buttered egg noodles.
