    Default Butterscotch Brownies

Order nail wraps from a Jamberry Independent Consultant
    1/4 cup butter or margerine
    1 cup brown sugar, packed
    1 large egg
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla
    3/4 cup all purpose flour
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

    Icing (optional )
    2 tablespoons butter or margerine
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    2 tablespoons milk
    1 cup icing sugar

    Blend melted butter with sugar.
    Add egg and vanilla.
Measure in flour, baking powder, salt and nuts and mix well.
Spread in an 8x8 greased pan.
Bake in 350F oven for 30 mins or until sides show signs of pulling away from pan.

Combine butter, brown sugar and milk in a saucepan. Bring to boil and simmer 2 mins.
    Remove from heat and cool.
Add icing sugar and stir well.
If needed, add more sugar or milk to make a smooth spreading icing.

I made the icing for the first time today and I find it is much more like fudge than icing. I might have boiled it too long or I might have added too much icing sugar but it is stiff I like them better without!

I didn't see your comment before - yeah, it's like a fudge icing (a lot of cooked icings are) but we still like it

I just came back to get the recipe again and the ingredients are gone! Can you repost them?

What's icing sugar? Powdered sugar? These sound great!

I am such a dork. In my head these were chocolate butterscotch brownies, like I thought chocolate brownies and butterscotch icing. After I just mixed the batter, it hit me...there's no cocoa! I'm sure they will be delicious anyway!
