    Default Chicken and dumplings

    Order nail wraps from a Jamberry Independent Consultant
    Ingredients:
    • 3 pounds meaty
    • chicken (legs, thighs,
    • breasts)
    • 3 cups water
    • 1 tsp. crushed dried
    • basil
    • 1/2 tsp. salt
    • 1/4 tsp. dried crushed
    • marjoram
    • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
    • 1 bay leaf
    • 1 medium onion,
    • chopped into wedges
    • 4 sliced carrots
    • 4 sliced celery stalks
    • 1/2 cup sliced
    • mushrooms
    • 2 1/4 cups Bisquick
    • 2/3 cups milk
    Steps:
    • Skin chicken if desired. Wash chicken. Put in a large pot
    • with water, basil, salt, marjoram, pepper, bay leaf, and
    • onion.
    • Bring to a boil, lower heat to a high simmer, cover and
    • simmer for 30 minutes.
    • Add carrots, celery, and mushrooms, bring back to a boil,
    • lower heat and simmer, covered, for ten minutes.
    • Mix Bisquick and milk. Drop by spoonfuls on top of
    • chicken and veggies. Cook for ten minutes uncovered,
    • cover and cook for ten more minutes or until toothpick
    • comes out clean.
    • Remove chicken and dumplings (remove bay leaf), simmer
    • remaining gravy for a few minutes till thick (add a little
    • flour if needed). Serve gravy over chicken and dumplings.
