Description: Cheese sauce, similar to nacho cheese. Use with chips, over veggies, baked potatoes, broccoli cheese soup, mac & cheese, au gratin potatoes. Can also be frozen and grated for pizza! Keeps 1 week in refrigerator.

Ingredients:
  • 1/4 c. cashews (can substitute almonds)
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 1/2 t. salt
  • 1/4 c. nutritional yeast flakes
  • 1 t. onion powder
  • 1/2 t. garlic powder
  • 3 T. cornstarch
  • 1 t. - 1 T. lemon juice
  • 1/3 c. red bell pepper - optional, for color
Steps:
  • Blend all ingredients in blender until smooth.
  • Pour in saucepan and heat until boiling. Stir constantly until nacho cheese consistency. Use more constarch for thicker consistency.
