We will notify our members when we make any significant changes to our Privacy Policy that affect the use of any personally identifiable information we collect. Connected Moms reserves the right to make non-significant changes to this Privacy Policy that will not affect the use of a user's personally identifiable information at any time without any notice to you other than posting any such changes in a revised Privacy Policy. We encourage you to periodically review our Privacy Policy to be sure you are familiar with the most current version. The Policy will include the most recent date in which any revision has been made.

  1. Information that Connected Moms collects
    Connected Moms gathers two basic types of information:
    1. Information provided to Connected Moms
      We ask you to register as a member of Connected Moms in order to use our interactive site features. During this registration process, you may be asked for your name, email address, birth date, and password.
    2. Information gathered by Connected Moms
      The Connected Moms website uses both server log files and cookies. Read more about how they are used in Section B6.

  2. How information is collected and disseminated
    The information collected by Connected Moms may be used to create anonymous statistic demographic information to determine trends and needs, and/or to supply market research to potential advertisers and partners to illustrate to them who the Connected Moms audience is. For example, we may let potential advertisers know that 40 percent of our users are in a certain age range, to allow them to determine if their products and services are appropriate for our members.

    In order to better describe how information is collected and disseminated, please review the list below.
    1. Membership Registration and Subscription
      Connected Moms has several areas reserved for members, such as the forums, recipes database and product reviews. Registration and/or subscription is necessary to ensure the quality of our member areas.

      The membership registration form requires you to choose a member name and password and provide your email address and birth date. Subscribing to additional Connected Moms features will provide Connected Moms with your full name and address. The personally identifiable information you provide during membership registration and subscription will not be given to unaffiliated third parties without your consent.
    2. Email Communication and Reminders
      By registering at Connected Moms, you agree to receive occasional updates and/or announcements from the administration. These announcements are only sent in the case of server outages or down time. Connected Moms does not share mailing lists with third parties. In instances where you have opted to subscribe to a forum topic or event reminder, you can opt-out at any time via your account.
    3. Posting Areas
      Connected Moms offers various public areas such as the forums, classified ads, recipes database, product reviews and other areas available to members. Please remember that any information you disclose in these areas becomes public information and is immediately accessible in the Connected Moms community. It is important for you to exercise discretion and appropriate caution when deciding to reveal personal information in these areas. We encourage you to use care in protecting your identity when you choose a member name and to keep your member name confidential.
    4. "Email this Recipe"
      Connected Moms offers the ability to forward a recipe to another person via email. If you use this services, we will use the recipient's email address in order to send the recipe and we will also ask for your email address in order to notify the recipient of the sender. We do not use the recipient's email address for any other purpose.
    5. Links to Outside Sites
      Connected Moms contains links to advertiser, partner and other websites. We cannot be responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such non-Connected Moms websites, and we do not control the practices of any of our advertisers, partners or other websites to which we are linked. If you have questions about how one of our advertisers, partners, sponsors or other linked websites use information about you, please contact them directly.
    6. IP Address Collection and Cookies
      IP Address: Your IP address is a number that is assigned by your ISP (Internet Service Provider) to your computer to identify its location. We may use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website. We may also use IP addresses to investigate account sharing and/or to ban members who are not complying with our Terms of Service or Forum Rules.

      Cookies: Connected Moms uses a feature of your web browser to set a "cookie" on your computer. Cookies are small packets of information that a site's computer stores on your computer. The Connected Moms website can then read the cookies whenever you visit ConnectedMoms.com. Cookies can be used to save your password so you don't have to re-enter it each time you visit our site and to remember forum settings. Cookies are used to custimize your Connected Moms viewing experience.

      You may modify your browser preference to provide you with choices relating to cookies. You have the choice to accept all cookies, to be notified when a cookie is set or to reject all cookies. If you choose to reject cookies you may be unable to Connected Moms services that require registration in order to participate or will have to re-login every time you visit ConnectedMoms.com.
    7. Information Collected by Third Party Advertising Companies
      Advertising on the Connected Moms website is served by third party advertising companies and may deliver a cookie to you so the ads you see can be tracked and ensures that you are not shown the same ad too many times. Third party advertisers know nothing about who you are and Connected Moms does not provide such information to any third parties.
    8. Information Sharing Policy
      Connected Moms does not sell or otherwise share personally identifiable information with unaffiliated third parties without your consent except in the following instances: (i) unless required by applicable law or pursuant to a court or similar order; (ii) as deemed necessary, in Connected Moms' sole discretion, to protect the legal rights or the property of Connected Moms, a member or third party, or to prevent personal injury; and/or (iii) in the event Connected Moms is required to transfer personally identifiable information to a third party in the event of a sale, merger, assignment, joint venture or other transfer or disposition of a portion or all of the Connected Moms website and systems (including, without limitation, in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings). In addition, Connected Moms reserves the right to allow access to its systems to third parties providing necessary technical services when such access is required in order to provide those services and to provide your personally identifiable information to third parties who provide services on behalf of Connected Moms, provided that such third parties are bound by Connected Moms' Privacy Policy.
    9. Opt-in and/or Opt-out Policy
      Upon registration, you can choose to receive no communications from us other than an initial member welcome message. You can follow a link provided in every email message (except for direct administrator communication) to unsubscribe from the email service.

      Connected Moms reserves the right to contact you in the event of a change in the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and any other Governing Documents.
    10. Changing Your Information
      You have the ability to access, correct or change certain information in your member profile at any time, including contact information or other information you've provided to us. However, you cannot currently change your member name. To review, modify or delete your member information, please use your User Control Panel found within the forums. Please be advised that Connected Moms currently archives information it collects on its members and visitors.
    11. Protection of Your Information
      Although Connected Moms has reasonable security measures in place to protect you from the loss, misuse and alteration of your information under our control, we do not make any guarantees to such security. All of your member information requires the use of your password and we recommend that you do not share your password with anyone.
    12. Minors
      Connected Moms does not encourage participation or visitation by children. Visitors who are known to be under the age of 13 are prohibited from becoming a member. Members under the age of eighteen are discouraged from participating in any sex related discussions.
